Premier Insurance Management Services, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Premier, Inc., has selected a new administrator for its property and casualty insurance products and services.
The move is effective May 15, 2006. AmWINS Brokerage is a division of independently-owned American Wholesale Insurance Group, the nation’s second largest insurance wholesaler, providing property and casualty, group life and health, and program administrative services. A wholesale broker with strong retail agent and brokerage relationships nationwide, AmWINS handles total premium placements of over $2.4 billion.
Premier Insurance Management Services (PIMS) made its decision based on recent changes in the insurance industry, a desire to enhance customer service, and the potential to develop future value-added insurance products and services.

PIMS helps healthcare organizations manage insurance costs with programs that offer cost-effective coverage tailored to individual needs, including sponsored and risk-bearing programs, as well as risk, claims and litigation management. PIMS provides insurance services to 186 hospitals, representing approximately 275 property and casualty and 85 employee benefits policies with premiums totaling approximately $51 million.
Health Industry Insurance Professionals, Inc. (HIIPI, a division of Marsh) was the previous administrator of Premier’s property and casualty program. The change to AmWINS does not affect coverages or clients’ existing relationships with brokers or agents.
