AmWINS Group, Inc. has been awarded a 2015 Top Workplaces honor by Charlotte Observer. This designation is based solely on the results of an employee feedback survey completed by more than 170 Charlotte area employees earlier this year.
"Being selected for this award is an honor, particularly since the judges were our employees," says Kristin Downey, director of human resources for AmWINS. "Survey results showed that employees believe AmWINS is headed in the right direction and that we are enabling our employees to work at their full potential."
AmWINS beat financial services and insurance industry benchmark scores by more than 30% in six different survey categories.
AmWINS was also recognized with a special award for work/life flexibility.
"Time and time again, our research has proven that what's most important to employees is a strong belief in where the organization is headed, how it's going to get there, and the feeling that everyone is in it together," says Doug Claffey, CEO of WorkplaceDynamics, the independent research firm which conducted the Top Workplaces survey on behalf of Charlotte Observer. "Without this sense of connection, an organization doesn't have a shot at being named a Top Workplace."
To win this award, AmWINS had to meet strict requirements for employee engagement and a strong culture.
