Can my client carve out their retirees from their active employee health plans?

Yes, Former employees that have retired and are being covered on the current healthcare plan as retirees, can be carved out.  This can create a potential for significant savings.

Can you provide Medicare education to my client’s employees?

Yes, we are always happy to discuss various educational opportunities and methods in which we can support our clients to provide this.

Can you offer both Medicare Advantage and Medicare Supplement programs?

Yes

Does the employer have to pay for the coverage?

No – programs can be set up with or without employer contributions

The court has ordered my client to provide retiree coverage for a segment of their retired employees, can you help?

How can we transition retirees to a new program without generating complaints? 

Amwins can handle this and work with clients to minimize complaints and disruptions.  We all no “we can’t make 100% of the people 100% of the time”, but our goal is always to minimize this.

 

Client wants to enhance their employee benefit package, can you offer a retiree program for their employees, at no cost to the employer?

Do you have solutions that can help our early retirees find health insurance coverage?

Yes, we can provide Healthcare consultative services to assist pre-65 individuals find individual health coverages.  There is a charge for each person we would provide this service too

 

 

Our retirees create a lot of extra work for our HR department, can you help take care of some of the administrative work?  

Yes, our solutions are designed to recude employers Costs, Administration and liabilities.  Amwins can take over the vast majority of admin.  Carrier negotiations, renewals, enrollment, communications, bill& collections, retiree customer service, etc.

 

 

 

Do you offer value-added benefits such as telemedicine, fitness, nutrition, counseling services, etc.?

Yes, Amwins has an exclusive Retiree Assistance Program called Manage My Health, that we can offer with our group medical programs

What is the difference between Group plans and Individual Market plans?

Group plans are sponsored by the employer and can be managed very well and we control all the program admin and assist with the overall program.  Individual plans are handled by the insurance companies and we have a lot less control to be able to help individuals, but our Benefit Specialist always work hard to assist as much as possible.

 

 

 

What is the difference between Group plans and Individual Market plans?

How can a group “fully-insured” plan possibly be cheaper than a self-insured plan?  

The cost of Self-insured plans are based entirely on the claims of the group and depending on how those claims are administered will impact the overall costs.  Fully insured plans can be less expensive as we can negotiate with carriers more favorable pricing based on a much larger block of business we place with our carrier partners.

Why is Group Part D plan (EGWP) cheaper than the RDS my client files for with their self-funded plans?  

Mainly because the subsidies CMS offers for EGWP are better than what can be obtained through the RDS program

Are the Amwins programs commissionable to our agency?

Yes Amwins can provide revenue to the agencies we partner with
