The new insurer, launched in February, is led by industry leaders Mitch Blaser and Mark Wheeler as Co-CEOs; it combines the new Lloyd’s Syndicate 1609 with a wholly-owned syndicated capital management agency, a cutting-edge insurtech platform, and underwriting hubs in Bermuda, London, the US and Asia.
Mosaic is providing tailored coverage to protect a broad range of financial institutions from exposures caused by crime, damages payable to third parties, and legal defence costs. Its financial institutions D&O coverage also safeguards personal assets of business leaders in the event of related claims.
The company’s professional liability portfolio, meantime, covers service providers like lawyers, specialist engineers in target industries like oil and gas, nuclear, mining, chemical and transportation, plus miscellaneous professionals such as actuaries and security consultants.
The specialty insurer is focusing on a select number of complex lines that demonstrate both global relevance and future growth potential. Underwriting in its political risk, political violence, cyber and transactional liability lines is also underway.
