The Atlantic hurricane season officially began on June 1 and runs through November 30. Hurricanes can be devastating not only to the geographic areas they affect, but to the individuals and businesses who call those places home. The U.S. has not seen a major named storm in more than 10 years – one of the main reasons the property market remains soft.
