Effective January 1, 2015, The Walker Group, an AmWINS Group company, has changed its name to AmWINS Brokerage of New York.

Located in Syracuse and Amherst, NY, The Walker Group was acquired by AmWINS Group, Inc. in January 2014. The firm specializes in primary and excess workers’ compensation, professional liability and other niche P&C lines. In addition, The Walker Group serves as a Group Manager operating and managing several safety groups within the New York State Insurance Fund.

“Though we’ve been proud to represent the Walker family name since 1934, it’s exciting to embark on a new chapter in our 80-year history,” said Tony Sidoni, president of The Walker Group. “We’re proud to be a part of this organization so this is a logical next step for us.”

With this change, AmWINS Brokerage of New York now has three physical locations: New York City, Syracuse, and Amherst. Sidoni will continue to oversee operations for Syracuse and Amherst.
